InnKeeper AlbertaIn 2003, Alberta and Alan travelled to Vancouver Island's spectacular Pacific Rim. After cruising on the "Lady Rose" and exploring the grandeur of the surrounding areas, they were so captivated by the magnificence of the Port Alberni Valley, they decided to make it their home.

We expect our guests will be equally enamored with the small town character of Port Alberni. We couldn't find a nicer place to live, and we look forward to sharing our tranquil surroundings and hospitality with you.

Alberta was born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. She has been an annual vacationer to B.C. for over forty years. Generations of family have lived on the west coast of Canada and after a successful career as a public school teacher on the East Coast of Canada, she decided to make a permanent home in B.C.

A major incentive for relocating to the West Coast is its favorable climate and also being able to remain close to the ocean. Many family members are involved in the hospitality business and this has been a major influence on her decision to become involved in operating a B&B.

InnKeeper AlanAlan is of Irish descent and has been a world traveler since his teens when he joined the royal Navy and later the Mercant Marine. To this present day he remains an avid sailor. Since immigrating to Canada in 1965, he has worked in most provinces as a contractor businessman and maintains an active interest in politics and history. Since their retirement, many days are spent on their sailboat “Carpe Diem” enjoying the coastal waters of B.C.

“Let our downhome, warm and endearing East Coast hospitality spoil you during your visit to Canada’s beautiful Pacific Coast.”
